At
the turn of the 14th century Gosławice belonged to the Godziebit Family.
It was the family Andrzej Łaskarz came from. His father Łaszcz held
the post of podłowczy in the Ląd-Konin Forestry. His mother came from
the Leszczyc family; she was related to the Bishop of Cracow, Piotr
Wysz.
Andrzej Łaskarz studied law in Prague and Padua. He earned a reputation
in diplomatic activity, especially in the Polish-Teutonic conflicts;
he worked on Church reforms. In 1397 he held the office of the Queen
Jadwiga's Chancellor. Between 1412-1414 Łaskarz acted as a prosecuting
lawyer on behalf of Władysław Jagiełło in the Poland vs. the Teutonic
Knights lawsuit. In 1414 he became the bishop of Poznań. Together
with Paweł Włodkowic, Archbishop of Gniezno Mikołaj Traba, Jan from
Tuliszków, and Zawisza Czarny from Garbowo, he represented Poland
during the Council in Constance. Andrzej Łaskarz died in Gosławice
on August 24, 1426.
