The department houses over 1,500 exhibits collected mainly in the
territory of the former Konin Province (presently the counties of
Konin, Turek, Słupca, and Koło). The largest collection is the collection
of folk art, which is principally an outcome of numerous contests
and fairs of folk art held for many years. The objects became the
Museum's property either as gifts or purchases. The ones that deserve
much attention are the collection of early sculptures by Zdzisław
Staszak.
Others worth mentioning are: collections of irons, mortars, as well
as copper and brass dishes.
Objects of material culture are gathered in order to equip the heritage
park. These are mainly farming tools, tradesmen's workshops, as well
as household appliances.
Among the most interesting and precious exhibits of the department
are those dating back to the turn of the 20th century: a shovel plough,
a harrow, a wooden plough with an iron moldboard, and a 19th-century
quern. Other exhibits that deserve much attention are products of
the REYMOND Farming Machinery Factory from Konin and Ludwik Mikołajewski's
company manufacturing articles to meet the needs of the eastern market.
