Adaptation of the two buildings and of another
structure built between the eastern defensive wall and the castle
in the second half of the 18th century provided the total exhibition
space of about 800m2.
The gothic basements house two permanent exhibitions: archeological
and natural-geological. On the first floor of the two buildings there
are three permanent expositions presenting the history of Konin, the
history of the Jewish community, and the history of sources of light.
The second floor of the western wing houses a temporary exhibition
hall (about 200m2). In the eastern wing on the second floor there
is a patriotic and ornamental jewelry exhibition; the exhibits of
this exhibition date back to the period between WWI and WWII.
On the first floor of the building situated between the eastern defensive
wall and the castle there are a visitors service room, a lounge for
100 people, a cloakroom, and a cash desk. The second floor with its
six rooms in enfilade houses a permanent exhibition of the Polish
19th and 20th century painting.
